The Infinity Solo condensing and low NOX water heater is the first Rinnai product for the UK to combine the advanced technology of its wall mounted continuous flow water heaters with a stainless-steel storage cylinder all in one compact footprint.
Wooda Farm, now in its 40th year, is a family run campsite in the country, by the sea at Bude, Cornwall with 55 holiday homes, two cottages and pitches for touring and camping, and a whole host of activities and facilities for all the family. Facilities for tourers and campers include three toilet and shower blocks, with private wash cubicles, family bathrooms and dishwashing areas. There are also two 24-hour laundrettes to service all sites.
Already a convert to Rinnai continuous flow water heaters which are used across the site, owner Graeme Colwell was open to a suggestion from Rinnai that he might like to try something a little different when it was time to renovate one of the shower blocks.
Rinnai explained that the Infinity Solo Re-circulator water heater was totally unlike traditional stored hot water systems, and would be beneficial for the project as it acts as a high-efficiency alternative to gas fired storage appliances.
“The refurbishment of the shower block and one of the laundrettes was a natural evolution and we needed a hot water system that would easily cater for three washing machines, three baths, 12 basins and two dishwash sinks.
“I was a bit worried initially that we were going back a step to the old Andrew water heater setup we were so pleased to see the back of it a few years ago, Rinnai persuaded me this was completely different as the cylinder actually loses very little residual heat unlike a traditional stored system. I have had gas meters/monitors fitted so give me a season and I will get back on what I have saved in fuel costs. I expect it will be more than worthwhile the capital outlay.”
Rinnai’s new Solo range incorporates 35kW and 54kW appliances, ensuring that even sites with a smaller gas meter can utilise its advanced technologies. The larger Infinity Solo model will also act as a high-efficiency alternative to other current forms of gas fired storage appliance.
Because the cylinder is stainless steel it greatly reduces the weight compared to glass lined models, which makes transportation and installation a lot easier. As well as the difference in weight, the cylinders available also have extremely low heat loss figures (as low as 1.41kW/h day), which means the customer pays less to maintain the heat within the tank.
One other benefit of the Solo utilising a stainless steel cylinder, is that the life expectancy of the material is far greater than that of a glass-lined equivalent as glass suffers from thermal shock causing it to crack after a period of time.
The 35kW-59.5kW Infinity Solo range is renewables compatible and supplied pre-fitted with a coil, meaning that the primary energy source will always be from renewable gains and the complementary Rinnai water heater will only apply the precise amount of gas to boost the difference in temperature.
