Unvented hot water tanks with Venturi Technology - No need for external expansion tanks
We use Venturi technology in our unvented systems to reduce a number of issues with expansion in our energy efficient unvented water heaters. The below diagram depicts the current issues:
How Venturi technology works with Rinnai hot water systems
Water drawn from the mains flows through a patented inlet device house at the cold feed of the hot water system. Using fluid dynamics to create negative pressure known as the ‘Venturi effect'. With precision design this configuration draws enough air in with the flow of water to recharge the air gap as the tank is filled and requires minimal ongoing maintenance. The Venturi technology also eliminates the need for additional expansion vessels.
